We have been growing tomatoes at Turners Beach continuously since 1958.

The environment in the greenhouse is monitored 24/7, and each tomato is checked at least 8 times at growth, maybe even more.

Our Tomatoes are picked fresh, packed fresh and sent to the suppliers immediately, ready for you to snack on the same day.

The Brandsema family have a long history in agriculture in Tasmania.

 

Originally, the family started with only a few vegetables and some poultry in Launceston in the mid-1950s. However, it wasn’t until the family moved to Turners Beach in 1958 that the full production of Tomatoes really started.

 

In the early 1990s, the two brothers Marcus and Anthony left their individual careers and started working with their parents Jan and Anna at the farm full-time. In 2007 both the brothers took over the farm and since then have made some changes to reflect the trends in produce. Including growing more snacking tomatoes as the market favoured bite-sized tomatoes that were full of flavour. We have also added another Brandsema family member to the farm with Elly working the front line sorting, packing and sending out deliveries.

You can find J & A Brandsema’s produce at selected Fruit and Veg stores, IGA supermarkets and independent retailers across the state.

We are also partnered with Woolworths to produce some of Tasmania’s favourite tomatoes.

 

We grow regular loose picked large tomatoes, snacking Angel tomatoes, Cherry tomatoes, as well as Solanato tomatoes that can be found in Woolworths.
